The largest state of India is Rajasthan which is located in the North West part of India. Rajasthan was earlier known as Rajputana meaning the ‘state of Rajputs’. The capital of the state is Jaipur which is also called as the ‘Pink City’. The city built using the pink stuccos has earned the title for the city. Rajasthan is a desert region that has Thar Dessert in the Western part of the state. The state also has one of the world’s oldest mountain range ‘The Aravalli Range’. It also has two national tiger reserves namely Sariska and Ranthambore. The state is also well known for the Keoladeo National Park located at Bharatpur, a city in Rajasthan. The famous dances Ghoomar and Kalbeliya are the local folk dances of Rajasthan. The state has a reputation for the textiles, handicrafts and semi-precious stones.
