Orissa is a state located in the East coast of India. Bhubaneswar is the largest city of the state and it is also the state’s capital. Orissa is well known for the temples, especially, the temples in the cities of Konark, Puri and Bhubaneswar. Bhubaneswar is very famous for its magnificent temples. It is also called as Cathedral City or Temple City. Puri is also considered a holy city in Orissa. The state experiences heavy regular rainfall that greatly supports the cultivation of crops (rice). The rich alluvial plains are highly fertile. The official language of the state is Oriya. The state is also rich in coal, iron ore, bauxite and chromite.
